ADULT DAY SERVICES
 
Trudeau Center day services provide a continuum of options to support adults with developmental disabilities to contribute, learn and achieve pride and independence.  We offer a choice of opportunities to meet the needs of people with varying skills and abilities. We encourage people to create and experience the most meaningful day they can imagine, using any combination of services provided.

Our day services options include:

  • The Worksite Partners Program (WPP) supports people in preparing for, finding and keeping meaningful employment in the community. Participants are assisted throughout the career development process to discover their best job match based on their strengths and interests through a variety of career exploration activities.  We provide individualized support based on the each person’s needs, to assist them in succeeding as an employee working in the business world. To ensure a smooth transition and equip people with important job and workplace skills, we provide an array of learning and training experiences.  After securing a job, we continue to support people with needed post-employment services and ongoing job coaching.  For more information about the Worksite Partners Program, contact Gayle Reid at (401) 739-2700.
  • School-to-Work Awareness and Transition (SWAT) supports young adults and their families making the transition from high school to the working world. Participants engage in a variety of career exploration, skill-building and learning activities, including community experiences and volunteering.   • Out & About provides opportunities for people to be a part of their community. The activities supported through Out & About are as diverse as the participants. The focus is to give each person the ability to contribute to their communities thorough a variety of social, recreational and employment activities including volunteer work, individualized employment, self-employment, participating in community social or recreational events, allowing each person to build relationships in a variety of settings.   • Trudeau’s Employment Supports provides vocational opportunities in a thriving site and community based settings. We contract with many local and national manufacturers, providing regular earnings and a sense of accomplishment for each participant. We offer job training through paid work experiences with job tasks tailored to the skills and abilities of each participant. Job opportunities include assembly, packaging, sorting, collating, and more. For more information about the Trudeau’s Employment Supports contact Doddie McShane at (401) 823-0051.
  • Trudeau Center for Enrichment & Opportunity supports people with more complex needs an opportunity to participate in activities that they find interesting, meaningful and enriching; while providing access to necessary medical and therapeutic support. A variety of site and community based activities may be pursued. Small, welcoming and supportive environments have been created, tailored to the needs and interests of participants.  Site based activities include a focus on developing life skills as well as experiencing a variety of music, movement, art, horticulture, and interactive media.   • Through our community partner, the JONAH Center, we also offer a unique community based options for seniors.  The JONAH Center offers a truly inclusive opportunity for seniors, community members, and people supported through Trudeau to jointly participate in a wide variety of activities in the historic JONAH Center located in Oakland Beach. In addition to being a community meal site, the JONAH Center offers coffee hour, crafts, cooking, bingo, and much, much more.  For more information about the Trudeau’s JONAH Center contact Joanne Savoie at (401) 823-0051.
  • Senior Enrichment Options focuses on supporting the changing needs of adults with developmental disabilities as they enter their senior years, transitioning from a work-based day to focus on leisure and wellness.  We also provide highly specialized care and support for seniors with developmental disabilities who are experiencing Alzheimer’s or Dementia in small nurturing activity based environments.  For more information about the Trudeau’s Senior Enrichment Options contact Joanne Savoie at (401) 823-0051
