Crayons Preschool program is licensed by the Department of Children, Youth and Families as well as the Rhode Island Department of Education and provides services to children aged 3-5 years.

Our preschool programming offers both part-time and full-time schedules within four distinct classrooms providing a comprehensive curriculum taught by qualified educators. Small group size and child-educator ratios help ensure that each student receives the educational support to prepare them for Kindergarten.

Preschoolers are provided opportunities to learn from each other as they work and play individually, in pairs, and in small and large groups.

Teachers promote children’s engagement and learning by guiding them in acquiring specific skills through daily activities that foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Language skills are developed as they read books, re-enact stories, participate in dramatic play and engage in conversations and group discussions. They develop phonological awareness through books, songs, poems, games and other classroom activities.

Children are provided opportunities and materials that encourage them to use their five senses to observe, explore and experiment with scientific phenomena.

Our preschool program implements an emergent curriculum that utilizes the Creative Curriculum and aligns with and follows the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards.
