Trudeau Events

October at Trudeau

October overflowed with events at the Trudeau Center. The exceptional people we service enjoyed a plethora of activities and Trudeau employees energetically participated in every event. From drum circles to Halloween festivities, October was a month brimming with fun!

The Patterson Building’s adult day program celebrated the first day of October with a live performance by Candida Rose. Candida sang crowd favorites like Donna Summer and Michael Jackson while the whole room sang and danced.

Not to be outdone by Candida, Trudeau’s art teacher extraordinaire, Ms. Terri, led a drum circle at the Patterson Building on Monday, October 7. The soothing sounds of the drum circle filled the Patterson Building with energy and electricity. After the drum circle, our accomplished Trudeau musicians provided a sneak peak into the holiday performance they’re working on and it’s a musical medley not to be missed!

But what’s October without Halloween celebrations? Don’t fret, Trudeau had Halloween parties for ALL of our programs.

Trudeau’s 30th annual East Greenwich Fireman’s Club Halloween Dinner on Monday, October 21 was an absolute blast. Costumes were clever and the food was delicious. The music, expertly provided by DJ Alan D., prompted everyone to groove along in their seats or get up and dance. Trudeau thanks all the volunteers who work so hard to make this annual event such a treat for the folks in our residential and adult day services.

Trudeau’s Early Intervention Halloween Party was another fabulous time. Located at the Pilgrim Senior Center on October 24, the creatively-costumed kiddos danced and sang, played with dough, and practiced trick-or-treating for the big day. The whole party was thrilled by a surprise visit by Warwick Mayor Joseph J. Solomon.

Crayons Early Care & Education Center, Trudeau’s inclusive daycare center, brightened everyone’s day by trick-or-treating throughout Trudeau’s main office building on Halloween. Children, parents, and teachers paraded by dressed as superheroes, princesses, ladybugs, and goblins showing of their costumes and charm.

Pathways Strategic Teaching Center, Trudeau’s education and treatment program servicing children with autism and related disorders, REALLY got into the Halloween spirit this year! Pathways planned their costumes with expertise and delivered showstopping unity with their synchronized costumes. Pathways employees love what they do and it shows!

And just when you thought ALL we did all month was celebrate Halloween, Pathways Strategic Teaching Center volunteered for the 2019 annual Citizens Bank Pell Bridge Run on October 19. The Pathways group enthusiastically passed out t-shirts to registered runners and expressed gratitude to all the runners who ran to support local nonprofits like the Trudeau Center.

Thanks for reading and enjoy November!

Please consider giving to the Trudeau Center this Giving Tuesday as we raise money for a wheelchair-accessible van to shuttle all the folks we service to and from all the amazing places they have to go!
