Trudeau could not let March fly by without saluting our four amazing social workers Jessica Dansereau, Jocelyne Hernandez, Julie O’Connor, and Karen Ostrowsky (not pictured).
According to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), “Social work is one of the fastest growing careers in the United States and the profession is expected to grow by 12 percent by 2030.”

If you are thinking of becoming a social worker, and we hope that you do, here are some tips from Jessica Dansereau. Jessica works in Trudeau’s children’s program and is in the Master of Social Work program at Rhode Island College.
Jessica will graduate with her master’s degree in May but feels like she has been a social worker for “her whole life” because it’s all that she has ever wanted to be, professionally.
Jessica’s advice is to “Use your empathy to your client’s benefit. Those who succeed in the field of social work have one thing in common, and that is empathy.”

Bravo to Julie, Jessica, Jocelyne, and Karen and happy Social Worker Month!
