10 Trudeau Truths with Samantha Moore

1. What inspired you to pursue a career in human services?

I’ve always liked helping others. Mr. Rogers was a big inspiration for me growing up.

2. What do you find most rewarding about your job?

I absolutely love seeing progress in the students I work with. In the ABA clinic, we have students and families who come in seeking support and by the time they graduate our program, it’s always a rewarding experience to see the life skills they have gained as well as their school-ready skills.

3. Can you describe a memorable moment or success story from your time working at Trudeau?

I don’t have just one success story. Throughout my time at Trudeau (both at Pathways and the ABA Clinic) I am proud of each student that has come through Trudeau, we have some amazing staff who truly want to see our students succeed in every aspect. Something that always makes my day is when a student learns to communicate their wants and needs.

4. What’s something about people with disabilities (or working with them) that you wish other people knew or better understood?

Everyone needs a friend; be kind.

5. What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?

A weekend with no plans is the best, just do whatever you please. Being with my husband, my mom, and friends is always a good time

6. Favorite book, movie, and/or TV show.

My favorite book is probably Dr. Seuss’ “Oh the places you’ll go!” -classic reminder that you can do anything.
My favorite movie: I have too many, but I enjoy romantic comedies and thriller/suspense.
My favorite show: I like sitcoms, dramas, and true crime.

7. Do you have any pets?

Yes! I have two cats (Louie and Winifred “Winnie”) and a dog (Nina).

8. What’s your favorite food?

Filipino and Mexican food!

9. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I grew up as a military child. My favorite place we’ve lived is Sicily, Italy. I’d love to go back again.

10. What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I love to play video games (my favorites are Mario and Zelda)!
