Group Living Residences

Trudeau maintains staffed group living residences throughout Kent County, where all services are individualized to meet the current needs of each person.

Our Approach

To the greatest extent possible, people live in the type of home environment that best meets their wishes and abilities. All residential staff are thoroughly trained to provide a variety of supports to the individuals we serve.

Services

Trudeau group homes offer individualized support, tailored to each person’s specific goals and needs.  Trudeau provides support in the following areas:

  • Community activities and memberships
  • Supporting meaningful relationships
  • Supporting medical needs, such as medications and medical appointments
  • Assistance with finances, such as banking
  • Assistance with household skills, such as meal planning and cleaning
  • Personal hygiene assistance as needed.

Eligibility, Placement, and Cost

Trudeau’s Group Living Residences are available to individuals with developmental disabilities past the age of 21.

To be placed at a Trudeau Group Living Residence, individuals must first meet Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH) eligibility requirements and be deemed eligible for residential services by their assigned BHDDH social worker.

The Group Living Residences are funded through BHDDH.
