Pathways was founded in 1998 through a collaborative effort between Trudeau and local parents of children with autism. The hard work and dedication of these founding parents made Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy – the gold standard in autism treatment – available in Rhode Island for the first time.
Their continued efforts, paired with the support of Trudeau Center administration, enabled Pathways to open its doors as the first school in Rhode Island specifically for children diagnosed with autism and autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
Educational Curriculum & Treatment Services
Pathways’ curriculum is tailored to the needs of each individual student and includes core academic subjects as well as enrichment subjects. These are complimented by treatment and supportive services designed to maximize the child’s intellectual and physical abilities.
Admissions & Referrals
Admission to Pathways is open to any qualifying child in Rhode Island and surrounding areas. A written referral from the child’s home school district is required to begin the enrollment process.

What Our Clients & Families Say
“The Pathways program was something that we explored and immediately had so much hope for and really saw it as a kind of rescue. Putting Gabriel into Pathways was a big relief for us. And, we could see positive things happening right away that probably wouldn’t have happened in the regular school system for him.
The Pathways program helped uncover Gabriel’s beautiful personality, and that’s made daily living so much better.”
