Meet George Norris! A DSP in our Residential program for 23 years, George came to human services because he wanted to help people with their daily lives. The bonds he’s built along the way are what keep him going after all this time. When he’s not at Trudeau, you’ll find him with his grandkids, his dogs Rocky and Zimba, and probably watching Tom and Jerry.

1. What inspired you to pursue a career in human services?

I chose this job because I want to help people who cannot fully help themself with their day to day life activities.

2. What do you find most rewarding about your job?

The relationship I’ve built between me and the people we support.

3. Can you describe a memorable moment or success story from your time working at Trudeau?

My most memorable movement was, when I met an individual years ago, he told me how he was going to help me gain weight, he was going to give me plenty of food.

4. What’s something about people with differing abilities (or working with them) that you wish other people knew or better understood?

It is very rewarding and I have a lot of fun helping people with what they like to do daily.

5. What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?

On my weekends I like to be with my grandchildren, visiting with my family and relaxing.

6. Favorite book, movie, and/or TV show.

My favorite TV show is Tom and Jerry.

7. Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have two dogs, Rocky and Zimba.

8. What’s your favorite food?

My favorite food is Fufu and rice.

9. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

If I could travel anywhere in the world; I would like to go to Scotland.

10. What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

A fun fact about me; I love watching basketball, football and Soccer.
