10 Trudeau Truths with Residential Site Supervisor Gianna Hall

You know them as the educators, caregivers and leaders who work to keep everything running smoothly so that our clients at the Trudeau Memorial Center can have the best experience possible. But what are they like when they’re off the clock?

Here’s a chance to get a more personal look at the people who make up the team at Trudeau… 10 questions at a time.

Meet Gianna Hall, Site Supervisor in our Residential program! Gianna discovered her passion for human services by chance after initially pursuing a beauty career, and she’s never looked back. What she finds most rewarding?

“Ending my day knowing it has such a meaningful purpose and I have the opportunity to help these individuals in their everyday lives.”

Her message to the community:

“People with disabilities want the same things everyone else does—respect, purpose, and opportunity. They have their own personalities, preferences, strengths, and independence just like anyone else.”

When she’s not supporting our residents, you’ll find her creating art or spending time with her pup Anari!

10 Trudeau Truths with Gianna Hall

1. What inspired you to pursue a career in human services?

Honestly this career path began by chance. I initially envisioned myself in the beauty industry, such as working in makeup and hair, but when I discovered this career, I fell in love with it and found more beauty in supporting these individuals than I ever could in a makeup or hair career.

2. What do you find most rewarding about your job?

The most rewarding part about my job is ending my day knowing it has such a meaningful purpose and I have the opportunity to help these individuals in their everyday lives.

3. Can you describe a memorable moment or success story from your time working at Trudeau?

I don’t have a specific memorable moment but my absolute favorite moments is getting to see the excitement on the individuals faces whether it’s from gifts, firemen’s dinners, holiday parties, etc.

4. What’s something about people with differing abilities (or working with them) that you wish other people knew or better understood?

I wish people better understood that people with disabilities want the same things everyone else does such as respect, purpose, and opportunity. They are not defined by their diagnoses. They have their own personalities, preferences, strengths, humor and independence just like anyone else.

5. What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?

My favorite way to spend a weekend will always be with my dog, she is my absolute best friend. I would take her everywhere with me if I could.

6. Favorite book, movie, and/or TV show.

My favorite movies is any Adam Sandler movie that exist and my favorite tv show hands down would have to be Bobs Burgers. It’s funny, relaxing and I could rewatch every episode repeatedly.

7. Do you have any pets?

Yes! I have a 2-year-old mix breed dog, her name is Anari and she is the funniest most lovable girl ever and definitely does not know personal space!

8. What’s your favorite food?

I don’t really think I have a favorite food; there’s very few things I dislike.

9. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

If I could travel anywhere, it would be to Egypt because of its beauty, meaning and once in a lifetime opportunity to experience ancient history which has always been a deep interest of mine.

10. What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I’m a very artistic person, I love drawing, painting and the emotion/meaning it has behind every piece.
