Meet Nevaeh Lima, a passionate Direct Support Professional who has been brightening lives at the Trudeau Center’s Residential program for the past year! Inspired by growing up with four cousins with disabilities, Nevaeh channels her natural caring spirit into making residents’ days more joyful through activities like crafting and creative projects. When not at work, this nature-loving artist enjoys unplugging in the outdoors, spending time with her menagerie of pets (including three cats, two dogs, and a tortoise!), and dreaming of visiting the Canadian filming locations of her favorite show, Heartland. A talented painter and drawer, Nevaeh brings creativity and compassion to everything she does.

1. What inspired you to pursue a career in human services?
I grew up with 4 handicapped cousin and always had a heart for helping and taking care of others.
2. What do you find most rewarding about your job?
Seeing how happy the residents are and being able to make their day.
3. Can you describe a memorable moment or success story from your time working at Trudeau?
Making handmade turkey craft with the residents at urban.
4. What’s something about people with differing abilities (or working with them) that you wish other people knew or better understood?
That it’s one of the most rewarding and best jobs to experience.
5. What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?
In nature with no electronics surrounded by wildlife with my friends.
6. Favorite book, movie, and/or TV show.
Heartland is my favorite show it’s about a girl and her love for horses.
7. Do you have any pets?
3 cats and 2 dogs.
8. What’s your favorite food?
Fresh pasta with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
9. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Canada and it would be going to the place where heartland was filmed and stay at the cabins they have.
10. What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
